Outback Part II

If you remember from yesterday Olive and I went to the Outback expecting food and were surprised when all we found was a junk car and miles and miles on nothing . . .

. . . with our tummies rumbling and us wondering what to doo Socks showed up with some food for us, yeah! He will always and furever be our hero!!

. . . after our lunch and a quick rest our tour guide showed and we headed further into the Outback. We just love our jeep and the name of the tour place "Pink Jeep Tour", purrrfect I say . . . one the road we saw one of the Australian doggies, he wasn't too friendly but wasn't mean either. Just kind of watched us go by . . .
Graphic by Karl

. . . while driving around Olive hear some beautiful music . . . the tour guide forrowed the sound and were we ever surprised when we found our dear friend Karl and a group of the locals practicing their musical skills . . .

. . . Olive and I decided not to try the musical instruments but took the time to get to know the locals.  I myself was a little nervous as the little boy to my right kept sneaking up on me and would try to catch me. I am not sure what the name of this game was but I called it "Keeping a close eye out on the little boy. Olive hit it off with a really sweet boy, he couldn't get enouth of Olive and stayed close to her and gave her lots of tummy rubs . . .

What the Crock!!!! Hey, that my camera!!! Oh man, looks broken to me. Guess it is time to call it a day in the Outback and head back to our hotel. Don't even ask how the crock got possession of the camera . . .  you don't really want to know . . . it isn't a pretty story . . . I must say I didn't know I could scream that loud.

See you all back in the states mates! Thanks for coming along on our 2012 Blogosphere Trip. Hope you had as much fun as we did

The Outback

Hey! What the heck !! We are not quiet sure what is going on out here in The Outback. Olive and I decided to head to The Outback today expecting some fine food. Our folks go there a lot and I hear all about the wonderful steaks, cheesy fries, the fantastic chocolate from thunder down under but we don't see a restaurant in sight. In fact we don't see anything in sight except this old car.

The two of us are thinking we might be in over our furry heads so we put in a call for a tour guide to met us here and show us around The Outback. I will have photos posted later in the day after our guide gets here and takes us around.

Boy I sure wished I had packed a picinic basket for todays fun. Maybe the tour guide will bring one with him. Sure hope we don't starve or something!

Australian Beach~SUNday

 ~SUNday~

It's SUNday and since I always take advantage of this day to chill out and get lots of zzzzs Olive and I decided to hit the beach and have a lazy day. I took her to the beach that Tamir and I had scouted out last month and thought this would be the purrrfect place to be lazy and have some quiet time. We are going to rest up today as tomorrow we are heading to the Outback . . . what?! Did you hear some yelling?! . . . what the heck!! . . . what is going on?? . . . there is something out in the water!!!  . . . quick Olive hand me the binocularrs so I can see what is going on in the water! . . .
OMC! It cannot be!! But yes it it! It's Karl out in the water! What is he up to?? Let me get a better look . . .
Graphic by Karl

That's our Karl. I am thinking this isn't going to be such a quiet day after all but I would much rather spend time with our friends then catching zzzzzs, I can do that when I return home.

Oh, never fear that Karl is not in any danger as he and sharks have an understanding ~ they don't bother him and he won't bother them.

Note: No sharks were harmed while Karl was in the surf.

Ayres Rock Day

Today is going to be a great day here in Australia!

Olive and I are starting our day out early, so we won't lose a moment of this fun day, with our friend Kjelle Bus aka Charlie Rascal. We are waiting here, along with two of our tour guides, for our friends to catch up so we can head over to Ayres Rock. I am so excited as Karl, Asta, Angel Momo, Socks, Scylla, and Charlotte will be joining us . . .

back~ Karl & Ruis. . .

. . . posing for photos near Ayres Rock. I am holding up the rock with my paws. Strong aren't I. We are all excited to spend the day here. So great to be together once again . . . yet the fun begin . . .

graphic by Karl

. . . before we headed up the rock our guides gave us a personal tour of the area. We hopped, we laughed, and we we bounced our way around the rock . . .  I recommend everyone take this tour while here . . . not sure Karl would agree with that though . . .

. . . when we we reached the top and spent the rest of the afternoon checking out the beautiful view and having a picinic. Later in the day we had a rememberance ceremony for dear Opus, Roscoe, Momo, and Tamir. When our ceremony was finished Asta release four doves, it was very touching as being so close to heaven up there itmade us feel as if they were there with us . . .

l-r: Ruis, Karl, Gracie, Olive & Asta

. . . as our day comes to a close we all stop to take one last look at Ayres Rock. What a day we had! We laughed, we cried, we were one in our thoughts as we thought of our loved ones and friends that are no longer. What is there to say? Only that the furries find their way into your heart and when they leave you are never quite the same again . . . we remember all those that  have left us too soon.

Here We Come!

Day three of our trip to Australia and we are nearing the airport!

Karl & Asta waiting for our arrival at the airport.

Two of my dear ole friends, Karl and Asta, have been waiting for our plane to land. We appreciate their dedication on being there when we land and are so looking forward to seeing them soon.

Karl, Charlotte & Asta watching our plane land.
.
We see it, the terminal in Australia! At long last our long journey is over. I sure hope our friends will be at the airport to meet us and help us to get to our hotel. We will freshen up then hit the town!!

Oh no she didn't!

WHAT! EXCUSE ME BUT WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME!!!???? I DON'T BELIEVE YOU ARE BEING VERY POLITE AND IF YOU WERE SMART YOU WOULD BACK OFF SISTER! YOU SEE I HAVE BEEN ON A VERY LONG FLIGHT WITH LITTLE SLEEP, HORRIBLE FOOD SO I AM NOT QUITE MY USUAL HAPPY SELF! . . . Sorry, I didn't mean to yell . . . let me count to ten and start over . . . one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten . . . OK, here I go . . . pardon me madam but if you would kindly remove your cart from my front left paw I will gladly get out of your way so you can bardge I mean make your way through the terminal to be first in line to pick up your luggage . . . phew . . . that not pretty horrible . . .

l-r: Charoltte, Asta, Gracie, Olive, Karl & Socks
 Watching over us: Angel Momo

Olive and I are thinking that making our way through customs and finding our luggage might be more of a workout then our long flight over here. But anyway all is well that ends well. We found our dear friends waiting for us and once again we are together for a fun time. Our hearts are happy as we start our vacation fun with our dear friends and share stories of old times and old friends who are furever with us in our hearts.

Watch out Australia here we come!!

Are We There Yet?

This has been one long day and at last the cabin is dark and we can now get some well deserved rest. I settle down for our long flight, and boy is it a long one, and think of my sweet Tamir and all of the fun things that we did together . . .

. . . what the heck! I am not ready to wake up and please if that woman would take the stinky food away from me and come back at a later time I would appreciate it! You really know I am super tired if I don't want the stinky food but right now rest is what I need, believe me you don't want me crabby. Olive seems to be thinking about grabbing the nip. Sure hope she waits until we land . . . which is a long ways off still!

. . . boy do I miss Opus and Roscoe's magical traveling van. We have been traveling a whole day and still are not there. Looks like we are half way to our destination of Australia. Thinking that on my return trip home we might find a time machine to speed things up . . .

. . . are we there yet . . . now are we there yet . . . are we almost there yet? It's been so long does anyone remember where we are going?!

Australia Or Bust

It's here! It's time.
Our 2012 Blogosphere Trip is starting today!

Olive and I checking our departure time

At long last the 2012 Blogosphere trip is here! What a fun time we will have. Many of you voted on our destination and after a drawing to pick our destination, Australia, we are now heading out for a week of fun! Olive, my niece, and I are flying out of Chicago's O'Hare airport today and catching an early flight. You can see from the photo above we are checking our departure time and what gate we need to be at. My tummy is nervous with excietment as we start our journey.

It is with a heavy heart as we wait on the plane for our take off. You see this has been a hard year in the blogosphere as many of our dear friends have left for the bridge and are unable to be with us on this year's trip. Each day we think of them and keep them close to us in our hearts. I have just recently lost my love, Tamir, though we had such a short time together we crammed a lot into our being together. He just recently went to the bridge and as a matter of fact he and I prescouted Australia last month to check out places to visit with our friends on this trip. As I wait for take off I settle back and read his last and only love note that he sent to me. I keep it near and it makes me feel close to him when I read it. I almost didn't come on this trip but Tamir's mommie said that he would have wanted me to not stay home, so here I am. I decided to invite my niece, Olive, as she too is sad with the loss of her brother Opus, he left for the bridge not even a year ago yet. I think this trip will be good for both of us.
My love note from Tamir

. . . Waiting for the go ahead from the control tower.

Off we go, Olive and I watch out the window seeing Chicago get smaller and smaller until soon we will not see it anymore. We now sit back and relax for our long journey across the big pond. We can hardly wait to get to our destination. We will keep you posted from Australia.

Live Strong 2012

What Cancer Cannot Do . . .
It cannot invade the soul
suppress memories
kill friendship
destroy peace
conquer the spirit
shatter hope
cripple love
corrode faith
steal eternal life
silence courage

Today, October 2, Livestrong is hosting the wearing of the yellow to raise awarness of the many that live with cancer. This is a terrible disease that affects millions of people world-wide. Each of us probably know of someone fighting cancer now, has lost the fight or within the next couple of years will be affected by someone you know facing the fight of their life.  Wear the yellow today to help raise awareness and honor all that have had to deal with cancer.
